train entering the station

Every train that enters or leaves the station is greeted by the platform attendant with a little bow.

These attendants are responsible for the safety on the platform, so they may look a bit silly there job is very important. They make sure the trains can enter and leave the station safely and on time.

It must be a very strenuous job as trains come in every few minutes. Especially at rush-hour when trains come in every 2 minutes and the platform is packed as you can see in my 1st picture "Shinagawa Station 8:24"
