Toll Lanes and Traffic, Harbor Tunnel
Toll lanes leading to Baltimore Harbor Tunnel.
The view on this late afternoon is toward the tunnel, from a point beside the
bridge that carries the Harbor Tunnel Thruway (I-895) over Curtis Creek in the
Brooklyn section of South Baltimore. The angle of climb to the bridge is accentuated
in this tele-compressed view. (300mm setting on my Tamron SP 60-300mm manual
focus lens, giving 35mm equivalent of 460mm on crop-sensor D-SLR)
The tunnel and the nearby Fort McHenry tunnel allow through north-and southbound
traffic to bypass Baltimore's downtown (*) by crossing under the city's broad harbor to the east.
