Greece Aegean Sea Cyklades Amorgos
The historic monastery of Hozoviotissa, dedicated to the grace of Virgin Mary, is the highlight of Amorgos. Built in the 11th century (1088), by the Byzantine emperor Alexius Komnenos,is perched on the rock at a height of 400m above sea level.
(The photo is from a 6x4,5 Velvia 120 slide film, with a MAMIYA AF camera, later scan to digital and convert to monochrome. I used a strong Red filter in conversion.)

An excellent scene showing just where the old Monastery sits withing the landscape...perche high on a rock and tucked beneath a high cliff.:))
