The storm
South Africa
Cape Town
On my way to Cape Good Hope, while waiting to board the scheduled boat for the trip, a purely tropical rain started pouring from a densely clouded and menacing sky among lightnings and thunders..Our start was delayed for more than an hour for the storm to calm down but, on completion, the aftermath spectacle with the beam of sunlight penetrating through the dispersing clouds over the harbour waterfront was more than enough to compensate..
I menaged to snatch few hasty shots trying to cope also with my wife yelling at me to hurry for embarkation..
One of the first and most important things a photographer has to learn to comply with, if not also to enjoy, is the cruelty of loneliness...Beleive me!
In the photo one can see the famous and imposing over the harbour waterfront, Mount Table, emblem of Cape Town and quite often covered with clouds.

THE STORM forcing everything under its spell, making a point of demonstrating its power by shrinking the world and rendering everything monochrome! only the blue hulls of the boats still oppose: veterans of the ocean they refuse to pale at the sight of a storm! and the yellow pole on the pier – hope for sunshine and the proverbial silver lining coming with every cloud… a great atmospherical shot, alexander! this first one's my favorite of the series! greetings, sabine.SINA 23/09/2015 12:10

sunshine and blue sky is perfect for lazing about, but to get really good photos you have to have weather, and sunshine after a storm is a wondrous thing to see.I hope you got onboard your ship in good time :)))
