The Semblance of Her Niece

I was in the midst of taking a deliberate portrait of her. Before I could pressed the button. My inquisitive nature kicked in and I asked her about the doll on the opposite end of the couch. There was a pause and then a distant look out the window. While others scampered about I stood still and watched..

She misses her niece. They live too far away. So one would say that her female instinct, created a doll of her niece whom she recalls times of their youth. Her niece lives in a distant part of the country too far for her to visit. and maybe too impossible to find transportation too. She keeps the doll well dressed and in addition neatly pressed cloth that her niece could wear if she ever comes for a visit some day in time.

The doll which resembles her niece's blond hair is all she has to hold on to now.
