and here is the scene at the fish market for everyone who missed the colours in my monochrome version ....
I find that the eye gets drawn to the scales and their bright red - therefore my black and white preference :-))

I love them both and think you are right in presenting the two versions. Here the red scale is a nice accent (as is the bowl). On the other hand, the B/W allows one to really enjoy the textures in the scales (fish-scales, that is!).

Herrlich hast Du diesen Fischmarkt ins Bild gesetzt und bestens präsentiert. Ohne Zweifel, in Farbe ist das Bild wesentlich attraktiver (auch die Fische, nicht nur die Waage........)

en version couleur, on ne voit qu'elle au premier abord. Je préfère cette version qui rend mieux l'ambiance des lieux.

The lighting in this image lacks the contrast of the BW. The scale really brightens up the room.
