The Living Forest (684) : Brambling
The brambling is a passerine bird, breeding in the tundra forests of northern Europe, Russia and further into Eastern Siberia.
Each year in september bramblings migrate to Western & Southern Europe to avoid the harsh winter conditions in the far North.
Mid-april, they return en masse to their northern breeding grounds.

German name : Bergfink
Latin name : Fringilla montifringilla

Das ist ja eine tolle Begegnung,einmal, weil der Bergfink ja nur im Winter als Gast zu uns kommt
und zweitens, weil er z.B. bei uns im südlichen Niedersachsen
in diesem Winter gar nicht zu beobachten war...
