The Living Forest (487) : Whitebeam

The scarlet berries of the whitebeam tree are generally less palatable (drier, little juicy) than most other wild berries.
Birds do eat them, but only at the end of winter when most other food has been consumed

Dutch name : Meelbes
German name : Echte Mehlbeere
Latin name : Sorbus aria

A very nice image of this tree. I didn't know english name but I can't recognize the tree with the German name either. It was very kind and helpful to post a description. The picture is wonderful. I like the frost on the berries. Unfortunately i can't take such pictures right now over here because we have rain and no frost. The image is very nice composed and capture. Brilliant. Thanks for showing us.
