The Living Forest (368) : Speckled Wood
The speckled wood is a butterfly found in and on the borders of woodland throughout much of Europe from march till october, with usually 3 broods per year.
This species visits rarely flowers but feeds mainly on honey dew on the upper surface of oak, ash or hazel leaves.
