The Fungi World (339) : Lumpy Bracket

Lumpy bracket is a fungus that not only grows on wood but also devours it completely after a period.

The upper surface of its semicircular fruiting body is usually white or grey, but is (nearly) always discoloured by lots of green algal growth.

Can be found all year long and mostly on beech stumps.

Dutch name : Witte bultzwam
German name : Buckel-Tramete
Latin name : Trametes gibbosa
