The cinnabar polypore is a fungus that grows mostly on fallen hardwood logs, but nearly always near a source of water.
With its brilliant red-orange color, it’s a striking appearance in the dark autumn forest.

German name : (Nördliche) Zinnoberschwamm
Latin name : Pycnoporus cinnabarinus
