Teatro en Las Ramblas (18 April 2005)

Part of a series of photographs showing a piece of street theatre in Las Ramblas on 18 April 2005.

The players (Performing in English, not Catalan or Spanish as you might expect.) had the novel idea of playing a part of their play, then freezing at vital parts of the act, much in the manner of other "statues" in Las Ramblas, then resuming whenever someone put some money in the hat. :) As the colours red, black and whites were prominent in their costumes, I decided to use Photoshop to restrict the shots to these colours.

This photograph was taken with a digital camera, and processed in Photoshop. I used "Select colour range" to select the red element on the unretouched photographs, and then use the selection as a "Hide selection" mask for a channel mixer adjustment layer to turn everything else to black and white. After fixing any problems in the mask,a vignetting effect was added and a curves adjustment layer was added.
