Swamp of ice and snow (12)
During the past month of january, we had a real cold winter in Belgium with lots of snow and freezing temperatures down to -17°C in the southeastern part of the land.
I was there, enjoyed the winter and took some shots of course.
'Hohes Venn' is the greatest and oldest National Park of Belgium and the most unique nature biotope in the land (altitude: 694 meters above sea level) with a sub-alpine micro climate.
Under the great mass of snow lies a whole area of vast and desolate swamps.
30 minutes before I made this shot, a thick fog layer hung over the landscape.
Suddenly the sky broke open with dazzling cloud formations as result.
