Sprinter under the Wire
Amtrak ACS-64 No. 605 Sprinter-class electric locomotive leads a
southbound Northeast Regional train out of Baltimore’s Penn Station.
In a few moments, the train will enter the tightly curving Baltimore and Potomac tunnel (*)
on the first (temporarily slow) stage of its high-speed run to Washington, D.C.
