Southbound Amtrak Empire Service Train on Spuyten Duyvil Swing-Bridge

It's late on a December afternoon in 2019, and in the sunset afterglow, a southbound Amtrak Empire Service train
crosses the Spuyten Duyvil swing-bridge on its way down the “Empire Connection” to New York’s Penn Station.

The bridge crosses the Spuyten Duyvil creek where it meets the Hudson River,
which the train has followed on its southbound journey to New York City.

Power is being provided by a a GE Genesis type P32AC-DM dual mode diesel-electric locomotive,
equipped to take DC power from the third rail to complete its trip into New York Penn.
