In Japan heißt die Pflanze Kiku, was sich mit "Abendsonne" übersetzen lässt. Als japanische Nationalblume hat die Chrysantheme eine symbolträchtige Bedeutung . Sie steht für Unsterblichkeit und Vollkommenheit. Jede Farbe hat eine spezielle Bedeutung außerdem.
Die Symbolik in China = Mut
In Korea = Würde.
