Sleepy chick

My friend is a school teacher and she is hatching chicks in an incubator for the school children to see. She brought the incubator home last night as they were close to hatching and we watched two break out of their eggs! It was really strange to hear the chicks inside the eggs cheeping loudly! This little one was the first to emerge twelve hours before the others yesterday lunchtime so he had dried out and is really fluffy! He was having a snooze in my hands.

Chickens must be kept in a warm draft-free floor under a red lamp.
    Lovely photo.

Ohhh! How cute this little chick is and how relaxed is s/he sleeping in your safe and warm hands. So s/he is the senior chick, and now is planning while sleeping, for the future programs of leading the other chicks. ;-)
Hope a safe poultry life for s/he.
    Warm greetings from sunny Tehran.

The miracle of life .... with every creature big and small so wonderful to see ... cute and lovely to look at this little yellow fluffball, all safe and protected in your hands. Hope he/she will grow up to be a fine specimen of the race.
    big hugs, Adele

oh, what an adorable little creature and what a moving shot of it! the utterly relaxed pose in the cradling hands of hands – very moving! good hands, obviously ; )), as he's letting himself go completely after all the excitement and exhaustion of having pecked himself out his shell and into the world – bed and breakfast at sally's… ; ))) hugs, sabine.

    Best wishes, Mandy :-)
