No wide angle, I was using the 18-70mm that comes with the D70 though closer to the 18 side. That might have accentuated the odd shape of the land there (it was gently sloping down towards me now that I think about it) to create the asymmetry. Thanks for the comments guys...
Really great work! Fine grey-tones and contrasts.
If I should critisize something I must say that's difficult here. Maybe I would ask if you used a wide-angle and the asymmetry in the ground is an effect of that? But that's not really important...
