Serles, Tirol

Winter in Tirol arrived late in the valley last year which allowed for further hiking in the mountains in December. After a three hour ascent, I found myself viewing the many summits. Among these summits stands the Serles. According to myth, Serles was a ferocious knight with his two sons. They were cursed by a farmer because of their violent temper, their cruelty and their barbarity. Now King Serles and his sons as secondary peaks have remained fossilized there where his castle once had been.
