Like all above I like this one. The light from the fridge is fine for me, but I would have made a much tighter crop.

    Great Idea, beautiful model.

Rather strange self portrait... I like it.
    Nice you.

What i miss here are heels. Heels add a more feminin touch..

Or its just me, the heel freak :))

Cool fridge, the red wodka (is it?) is a cool contrast with the blue-ish fridge. I also like the lighting, and i too would move away from the fridge just a little bit ;)

I think my comment's been taken rather too literally... it was meant tongue-in-cheek. Great interpretation on the 'self portrait' genre.

I'm sure Y has a brilliant sense of humour Patrick.. but if she really has the capability of 'turning witch' then we best keep on her good side. Hi Yasmin.... :))

Great photography Denise... keep them coming.

    Eddie,
We have both been presumptuous in how and why Denise did this shot. I find it amazing how a good image can create so many stories for the viewer - and afterall isn't that the purpose of photography? I see erotic possibilities and anticipation - you see sadness and disappointment. Perhaps Denise will enlighten us some more?

In regards to Yasemin, its just her sense of humor with a bit of a language barrier and a comedic long term history in the FC forums - an inside joke. Don't worry, if she turns into a witch, she will be a white one. Again I apologize to Denise for making her page into another FORUM.

There is a certain sadness in this image.. you have obviously went to a lot of trouble to get ready, put on your make-up, good clothes, fine jewelry. You've bought wine to go with a meal which you have cooked (presumably with the food that use to be in the fridge) and a bottle of champagne to celebrate something. You have even thought about buying the whipped cream for 'afters'. But.... he's stood you up. Instead of sitting down to that special meal (all the bottles are still in the fridge) that you spent hours preparing and getting ready for, you've ended up taking self portraits. Nice self portraits.. but not the evening you had planned.

    What is bothering Yasemin?

    Good work...

    Jaime :)

What more could you ask for. A beautiful woman, a bottle of champagne (it looks like Charles Heidseck - one of my faves) and whip cream...
I like the suggestion of doing this shot with just the fridge light for illumination.
Hey, here's an idea for the next contest shot...what's in your fridge?

Creative shot Denise.. keep them coming. Oh, and don't mind Yasemin and Laki.. they've had this love/hate thing going on for some time. They'll probably get married and have really strange kids. Cheers from Canada. Patrick

in my opinion its a very interesting self, never seen one like this before, i mean in front of a fridge :-) i like the light situation and also your expression with the eye contact to the viewer.

    laki

p.s. at first sight i also wondered where the food is :-) but this might be a seperate fridge for drinks only(?)
  • Dirk Hofmann 15/06/2006 1:16

both are you right, but i also see: a lot of drinks in this fridge and nothing to ead ... a good looking girl and no shoes ...

i was up to send you a care-pack with food and shoes ... including stamps, so that you'd could send me some wine in exchange for it ... ;-))

    serious now:

interesting way to do a self ... i haven't seen this scenery often before in a selfportrait. the only thing i would think about when seeing the shot is to maybe turn the head a little bit away from the fridge's light ... i think the head would be "separated" better from the background ...

    beautiful model :)
