Rock Garden

Sandstone rocks abound in Colorado! I am always amazed at the color and shapes of these rocks. In this capture, the rocks were flat and not very high off of the ground so it was possible to hike over these rocks, and in fact they had to be crossed several times because they intersected the trail. Sandstone is a very soft rock so I try to avoid walking on these formations as much as possible! These rocks were filled with plant life and colorful lichen which added to the overall color!

wonderful colours in these rock formations and the cactii are a bonus.
i would think that you would not wear these rocks down in a million years, so don't be frightened.
    regards, maurice.
