Ritten train at Bolzano Alto
The Rittner Bahn (called Italian Ferrovia del Renon) is an electrically operated, meter-gauge narrow-gauge railway in South Tyrol.
Historically, the route, which was licensed as a local railway, consisted of three sections: a tram-like route in Bozen, a cogwheel route from Bozen to the Renon high plateau and an overland route on the Renon (Ritten).
