JAMBO and bye bye.......
for the upcoming couple of weeks....
we are going to criss cross kenya in search for big cats and all the other wonders of the african bush

    thanks so much for your kind comments and wishes.

    john, you are perfectly right. our .de-account has got one close up of these "finken"!
    the pic has been taken in the same reserve (approx. 30 k's from windhoek) but far ayway from any water. it was in a tree right next to our terrasse. you see each rule has got it's exeption ;-)

    Brilliant shot of this youngish Rhino.
    If you look to the left of it up in the trees, you will see hanging funell nests.
    They are of the yellow weaver birds, commonly known as Finks.
    They build there nest in this manner, to stop snakes taking the eggs or chicks and build them over water, usually.
