Popular Poplar
A Poplar Hawk Moth found yesterday in my moth box.....I transferred it onto a twig and there it sat all day, asleep no doubt. At 5.30 pm a female blackbird swooped down, picked it off the twig in front of my eyes, very close to me, and was away with it. She paused on top of the boundary fence before flying off to feed her young with it I imagine.
