The short time I had chickens, they brought some delight to Nigel, my Tawny owl. For the last 13 years, he would call every night and no one would answer him because he's from Europe, so no one here knows what he's saying. Well, I had some chickens given to me and Debbie SWORE they were all female but one. NOPE, they all turned out roosters except for three and as they grew and found their voices, they and Nigel would 'call and return' all freakin' night long. I was afraid that the neighbors were going to put a hit out on me, so the chickens went bye-bye. Nigel is back to singing solo again...
