captured: skeleton coast area - north east namibia

these remarkable creatures live in a very harsh environment where the only source of moisture is the coastal fog which comes from the atlantic coast
there is no other source of water whatsoever
they are monitored by scientists on a reagular basis - when we visited the skeleton coast np we had the pleasure of meeting with some of these scientists and gathered some information on this rare species.
sorry for "cutting" out a part of baby's feet - but we didn't hurt it ;-) promise!

This is indeed a graceful shot of mother and child giraffes. It's refreshing to know there are people who really care for the wild life of this world, and try to postpone what unfortunately seems to the inevitable decline wild animals.With best wishes John.

that's what we appreciate most while travelling: interacting with the locals and natives.

Irma, you are a most gracious lady, I sincerely appreciate all your wonderfulcomments. Yes I live in Africa for 24 years and just on 29 here in Australia.
I love both countries equally.
I love you photograph, it takes me back on a trip to my youth when I used
to roam around the veld, just watching the great array of animals, that would
mill around the water holes.
Australia has a lot to offer as well, many tourists get a beautiful colour brochure
and a map, then off they go.
But the true of the matter, they should talk to the locals who have lived in these
areas.
Also talk to the Aboriginals, they know all the secrets of this wonderful country.
Good luck to you and your family and put some more pictures on FC the greatest
