Mirage?
It may have seemed like a mirage on this broiling summer afternoon, as I sought out
a brief shade break from the sun while shooting along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade...
But the vanilla frozen custard cone and the chilled bottle of water provided by the nice gent
in the truck were certainly real and most welcome, as was the shade in which I enjoyed them.

the way we were… sweet frozen vanilla nostalgia… back, way back and further back, into childhood… in the sweltering summer heat even the most famous city promenades shrivel down to familiar size, turn into benign little neighborhood alleys… visions of mr. hooper on sesame street… ; ) greetings, sabine.---------------------------------------------------------
