Mandalay hill panorama view
New sets of old photos captured in Mandalay 44 years ago.
On the occasion of the devastating earthquake two weeks ago, I am posting my photos as a reminder of my visit to the fairytale town of Mandalay in the north of Burma.
It was constructed in the 1890s and is celebrated for its beautiful teak architecture and exquisite carvings. The monastery complex can house 35 monks and the teak foundation is still in excellent condition to this day. So, is Mandalay worth the visit? The answer is yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
This photo was captured during my honeymoon in February 1981 and scanned with my NIKON CoolScan V ED.
It makes me fun to select and scan old photos, this reminds me old memories I made during an amazing trip.

Ich war 1985 dort und bis heute sind mir die vielen Stufen bis oben in eindrücklicher Erinnerung ! Der Ausblick oben entschädigte dann für alles.LG, Herbert
