You will probably hate this by saying 'oh, but it's all PHOTOSHOP!!' and refuse to comment, but if you could momentarily overcome your prejudices you might find this exercise interesting: how to get the maximum out of a very ordinary image and inject some feeling, in this case not a very pleasant one, into it.     I agree with Brian, what are the excuses for? Photographers in old times used to make much more fierceful interventions in printing. Only to refer to the dyes they applied is enough!..
    Interesting series. I would prefer the 5.

    No excuses necessary most use some form of editing software to get a desired result. Good pictorial collage
