Into the Light
Time was almost standing still at the shores of the lake. The weather was similar from day to day, sometimes more wind, sometimes less, sometimes the sunset was cloudy and the sun sank below dark blue clouds as huge, deeply crimson, oval fireball, it only took a few minutes and the magic soon faded into the dark of the night. But it was the same everyday, a seemingly eternal rhythm. The people by the lake went on with their daily lives, the women washing the dishes after dinner, men sinking baited fishing lines into the lake for the night, the children running and splashing. Some had little lines to catch tiny fish by the shore. But when darkness fell, everything went quiet apart from a tiny tourist bar nearby.
Here is yet another impression of a rather windy evening, ruffling the water surface. Mwera was how the fishermen called that wind. The sunlight was blinding but the colors were as usual : a pale pink that would quickly grow more intense and finally give way to a dark blue sky.
I realized how cross-processing my photos rendered the purity of the light and colors in a very pleasing way that is astonishingly not at odds with the real situation.
So here we go. Thank you for your time.

Beim Betrachten höre ich das Paddel ins Wasser eintauchen und hie und da entfernte Stimmen von Menschen am Ufer oder den Ruf eines Wasservogels - serenity lake - so könnte die Szene auch heißen...
