While peering down through a freshly eaten hole in a sunflower leaf, I wondered what the creature that had left this hole might see if it were looking back at me. With this, I set out to capture this as best I could. Back-lighting the leaf with a flash, while camera poised above, I managed to bring out the textures of the leaf as if illuminated from within. In a separate photo, I photographed my face, with the flash positioned below my chin, pointing up, to give an unnatural lighting that we are not used to seeing. I them blended the two images together using Photoshop.
