      You mean - pub signs.
      I have a book - "the Dictionary of pub names".
      Some pub names are very common - such as "the Black Bull" ; "the King's Arms" ; "the Queen's head" ; "the Lord Nelson".
      Some are unique.
      Amongst my favourite pubs in this region are
      the Gun Inn.
      The Millstone (at the bottom of my street) ;
      the Jolly Fisherman (in Craster)
      and the Three Wheat heads , (in Rothbury).
      And they all have their own signs.
