you could try to set down the exposure time if you use the manual modus. Or you can use the function for a general shutter corrections -0.3, -0.5, ... Another way I often use is to fix the spot focus on a light point, it also measures the exposure.

I agree with the lights being to flashy, at least the ones that weren't behind windows and such. They take away from what I was trying to capture. Any tips on avoiding that? It is some very bright lighting, so it might be kinda hard. I also can't use filters with my current camera...
oh lord, you said these didn't come out well? this is great. i can't tell if it looks like it's going to explode, or if it should be the poster powerplant for "powerplants weekly".
