Das frühe Morgenlicht bricht über den Bergkamm und taucht diesen See in mystischen, gegenlichtigen Nebel. Dort, wo die Gletscher tiefe Pfannen aus dem Gestein kehlten, bildeten sich nach dem Ende der Eiszeit Karseen, die gewiss zu den landschaftlichen Juwelen der Alpen gehören.

The early morning light comes across the mountain top enwrapping this lake in mystical foggy light backlit by the sun. Tarns are typical postglacial landforms. They frequently occur in the scooped-out base of cirques that were carved out by the glaciers during the last ice age. Tarns are among the most beautiful landforms in the European Alps.
