Stopping by in Vrlika for lunch I noticed the ruins of a medieval fortress up the mountain. I checked the map and discovered that its with an easy access by road. So we went up to Prozor, a fortress erected during the 14th and 15th century by the Prince of Cetina, Ivan Nelipic.
The short trip offered, what I expected: an amazing view into the fertile Vrlicko Polje Valley, fed by the waters of the Cetina River. On the horizon the reservoir Lake Peruca, which has been a strategic target for Serbian military forces during the Croatian War of Independence 1991-95.
