Um Korallen zu sehen, muss man nicht zwangsläufig verreisen, sondern einfach auf den Spätsommer/Herbst warten. Diesen Korallen Pilz (Gattung Ramaria, wahrscheinlich R. stricta) habe ich 2014 in einem Buchenwald nahe Hattingen gefunden. Viel Wissenswertes gibt es leider noch nicht zu diesen Pilzen, sie sind holzabbauend oder symbiotisch und es gibt sowohl genießbare als auch giftige Vertreter. Schön sind sie trotzdem und machen den schlichten Buchenwald ein wenig tropischer!

To see corals, you do not have to go abroad necessarily. Sometimes you just have wait for the fall. I found this coral fungus (genus Ramaria, probably R. stricta) at a deciduous forest in 2014. There is not really much to know about the fungus though. It’s a typical wood decaying or symbiotic fungus and some of them are edible while others are poisonous. Still, they give the normal forest we know a nice tropical touch!
