    Taking photos of people with the flash going into the eyes usually ends up in "red eye" on the photo. Pets get this too but instead of red, it is a different color.In this picture, a bluish color. You could have avoided it if you had a bounce flash or cleaned it up digitally in your photo editing program. One more technique that works pretty well is to have less depth of field and blur out more of the distracting background.
