Bison at dawn
This guy kept me "hostage" for a good 20 minutes...I had bundled up (-24 F) and headed out before dawn to photograph the geysers around Upper Geyser Basin. You are not allowed to approach bison, and have to wait until they move. This guy was eating near the entrance to the boardwalk, so I was forced to wait far away in a snow bank. Luckily I had my telephoto! That is Old Faithful steaming behind him. Most of the time he ignored me, burying his head in the snow trying to find something to eat. But when he looked straight at me--through my zoom--it was pretty scary!
