My Mother-in-Law's brothers were questioned and imprisoned in this building by a seconded member of the Lithuanian Police. My Mother-in-Law bribed the police with vodka and the young men made their escape.
Seredzius was regarded, during the Holocaust, as a Jewish village and is best known as the birthplace of its most famous son, Asa Yoelson (Al Jolson) who left the village before it was decimated, making his reputation as an entertainer in the USA.
