London Wall - Fading Museum of London Headquarters
Besides 7 million archaeological finds, paintings and decorative objects, among others, the Museum of London is the largest collection of documents of urban history in the world, and focuses in particular on the changes and transformations of London and contemporary English society.
After 45 years of brilliant activity in 2022 Museum of London has closed its doors at the London Wall site. Its difficult-to-find entrance had always been a problematic feature. So, to remain relevant, the museum announced that it would close and then reopen in 2026 inside Smithfield Market, a few hundred meters distance but more accessible by transport links.
