About me

After university I photographed golf for TV, resulted in a life long aversion to anything involving small white balls. I love women and buildings, however, so I became a commercial photographer specializing in fashion and architecture. Since those halcyon days I've taught creative photography, photojournalism and scientific photography at the University of Victoria.

Italy and England, the landscape from the Arctic to the tropics, graffiti, the image as metaphor and the nude are areas of ongoing work, along with my Atget re-photographic project in Paris.

Following many years of Leicas, Nikons, Contaxes and Hasselblads and too many hours in the darkroom, I've become a digital convert and work with a Nikon D200, a film scanner, a flatbed scanner and Photoshop CS3 with plugins including Eye Candy and Filter Forge. The 'blads were eventually sold to buy a sail boat, from which I never looked back, though I've found many women who don't like being frightened and don't like being cold and that is a lot of what sailing is about!

To see all of my work make sure your filters are set to "SafeSearch off ". Go to your account by clicking on your own Flickr ID at the top of any Flickr page. Click on 'Privacy and Settings'. At the bottom of the page, under 'Content Filters', click the 'edit' link on the right. Choose 'SafeSearch Off' and click 'Save Changes' at the bottom.

Also please have a look at my own website at http://www.tomgore.ca. If you like my pictures and are interested in modeling please drop me a line. I'm always interested in working with some one new and adventurous.
