Hello, how can I take a picture of the full moon showing the clouds as well without loosing the structure of the moon?

The trick I use is to wait until some cloud passes in front of the moon to dim it a bit, then increase the exposure of the darker clouds by some combination of widening the aperture, decreasing the shutter speed (keeping it fast enough to freeze cloud movement), and bumping up the the ISO.

Moon photography is a ton of fun in the event that you have a zooming focal point. Something 400mm or longer works best so you can persuade the moon to be gigantic in your edge and catch the most detail.Put your camera in manual mode. Set your ISO to 10 or 200 and your opening to f/8 or something like that. Use spot metering to concentrate on the moon and alter your settings.

Capturing the full moon along with clouds while preserving the moon's structure can be challenging due to the significant difference in brightness. Here are a few tips to help you achieve this:

Choose the Right Time: Try to photograph the moon when it's lower in the sky. This will reduce the brightness contrast between the moon and the clouds.

Use a Tripod: A stable tripod is essential for long exposures, which you'll need to capture the details in the clouds.

Manual Mode: Set your camera to manual mode to have full control over the settings.

Aperture and ISO: Use a small aperture (f/8 to f/11) to get a deep depth of field. Set the ISO to a low value (100-200) to reduce noise.

Shutter Speed: Experiment with different shutter speeds. A faster shutter speed (1/100s to 1/250s) can capture the details of the moon, while a slightly longer exposure can bring out the clouds. You may need to take multiple shots and blend them together in post-processing.

Spot Metering: Use spot metering to focus on the moon and adjust your settings accordingly.

RAW Format: Shoot in RAW format to have more flexibility in post-processing.

By using these techniques and a bit of trial and error, you'll be able to capture a stunning image of the full moon with the clouds!
