I'm writing a personal study as part of my photography course and would like to know your views on creative photography.

Can you define creative photography?

Hi James, Good choice with the course, It would be good to see some of your work, I think you will get a better response if you fill in your profile and get involved uploading your images and giving your point of view on the work of others.

For me though, any Photography could be considdered creative. It is an artistic medium just as a piece of paper and a pencil. Obviosly it is not the first concern for the average holliday maker with a disposable camera, but still some consideration is usually given to basic composition ect even if the intention is purely for memorys sake. To me, photography is creative. Its just that the crativity scale is HUGE.

Anyway, just my view.

Take care.

i think that the need for creative photography is to open up peoples minds.
I spose back in the old days where people only took photos of what they saw and never what they could become with a bit of patience.
I think creative photography is all about whats in your heart, and what you can create.

Try diffrent colours and concepts, always trying something diffrent, and putting a bit of effort into your photos.

work on them, change colours and try cropping go wild and sometimes you might come up with something really special,
I am a big fan of weird photos, and abstract aswell.

life is all about chances

well hope you enjoyed reading this

take care

Jaime, reading this :
"I spose back in the old days where people only took photos of what they saw and never what they could become with a bit of patience".
it seems to me you believe creative photography only started with digital photography and its possiblities to enhance and change ? how wrong you are !
Creative and contemporary photography dates allready from the '40ties and '50ties of last century, long before man even had thought of digital photography !! one of the best examples of this is Man Ray !!

No i dont think that creative photography started when didgital photography came ,i was just saying that people back in the old days maybee would of taken very creative photos, but to a degree.
as the time we live in now it has opend up alot of peoples minds, to do things you never think of.
but thankyou Ruud for letting me know, maybee i should of though about my answer a bit more carefully, before posting it.
I think that i should just leave it up to the people that know what they are talking about.

sorry James.

For me, creative photography is about taking your own spin on the world around you. It’s not just snapping a picture of what’s there but finding your own angle and making it unique. I love experimenting with different lighting and perspectives to get a shot that really stands out. Sometimes it’s about breaking the usual rules and just seeing what happens. It’s all about letting your imagination run wild and showing your own style in every photo.
