Hello,

I have a Nikon D3100 and Tamron lens 10-24 mm.
Recently, the 2 stopped working together. When I plug in the lens to the camera... the camera won t turn on.
(the camera work welll with other lenses).
I have not dropped it or anything.

I would like to understand why this is happening, and how can I fix it.

any idea would be very helpful, thank you

Hello,

The issue could be due to a compatibility problem between the nikon D3100 and the Tamron lens. Try cleaning the lens contacts, updating the camera firmware, or resetting the camera settings.
thanks

Perhaps the Nikon D3100 and the Tamron lens aren't compatible, which would explain the problem. You may update the firmware, reset the camera, or clean the lens contacts.

Your issue may be due to a faulty connection between the Tamron lens and your Nikon D3100, possibly from dirty or damaged electronic contacts. Try gently cleaning the metal contacts on both the lens and the camera body using a microfiber cloth or an eraser. If the problem persists, the lens may have an internal issue, such as a damaged circuit, preventing communication with the camera. Testing the lens on another Nikon camera can confirm if the issue is with the lens itself, and if so, professional repair or contacting Tamron support may be necessary.
