I'm thinking of purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10" version) to show images to clients in an easier method than using a laptop.

Have you used one of these tablets for this purpose and if so do you know if you can connect a USB card reader to it so that I can download Nikon RAW files directly to it?

Thanks... :)

Most probably even if you would be able to find a connection, a tablet will not be able to cope with reading RAW files.
Any raw file should first be processed and saved as jpg before you can do anything with it on a tablet.

If you want to show your portfolio on a tablet, the best thing to do is create a website which has been adapted for viewing with a tablet. In that way you can give your clients and other interested a good picture of what you do.

Have a look at http://www.viewbook.com for creating a site, and you can also check my website which is fully adapted for use with a tablet http://www.vanderlubbenfotografie.nl

Thank you for your input Ruud.

You are correct in that 'normally' the Galaxy Tab can't read RAW files but I've found an app that allows me to do just that.

I can also see your point of view in that showing RAW file in their un-processed state doesn't do me any justice as they won't look as good; probably quite horrendous in fact.

It would be better if you use an I pad. The reason I am suggesting you apple is because as you will be displaying your products from that device you will definitely want them to see your product as clearly as possible. Using an oled display can make it happen. So rather than buying samsung you can buy apple and apple runs more smoothly than anything.

I totally agree, but maybe if you don't want to be attached to an Apple brand, it is always a better alternative to get an HD Tablet, which could be a Samsung one, an Amazon Fire, or even Lenovo.

I completely agree, however maybe if you don't want to be associated with the Apple brand. I choose Apple because you would be exhibiting your merchandise from that device and you will want people to see your product as well as possible. It is possible to make it happen by using an oled display https://wordsfromletters.co/
