Photography for me is a means to support my other hobbies and interests (motorcycling, amateur radio, campanology, my family etc). I want to be able to captures some essence of what I experience to share with others.
Photography in that sense then is a supporter of the other hobbies I have -but I want to be good enough to get "that shot" the FIRST time, because there's often not a second chance.
I use a Nikon FM3A, with Fuji Reala print film when I'm 'getting serious'. I use several different lenses, and an SB28 flashgun. My tripod is a SLIK U8000. I'd like to get a Nikon D700, and a Manfrotto 050 pro to augment my 'serious' equipment.
I also use any phone I carry (or my wife's) for 'party snaps' because its small and light, and as you can see I get some opportunistic mileage from carrying a camera-phone.
Any comments or feedback is welcome. Currently I live in England, and although I am English I've also lived in Finland, Singapore and Hong Kong.
My Radio callsign in UK is G1WZM.
