The Living Forest (378) : the bald Jay.....
Has anyone of you ever seen a bald jay ? I don’t think so, but here’s the prove that they exist….. :-))
Of course, birds become not bald.
Presumably this jay was attacked by a predator and was partially scalped. Luckily for him he had no further injury, could escape and survive.
The jay is a shy bird that belongs to the crow family.
Dutch name : Vlaamse Gaai
German name : Eichelhäher
Latin name : Garrulus glandarius
In the picture below, you can see a normal healthy jay.
