The Living Forest (187) : Wild Crab Apple blossoms
The Wild Crab Apple is a small deciduous tree that mostly can be found at the edge of oak woods.
In the month of may, blossoms appear at the same time as the fresh new leaves.
Those blossoms are very much sought out by bees as a very rich source of nectar.
Dutch name : Wilde Appelboom
German name : Holzapfel (auch Wildapfel genannt)
Latin name : Malus sylvestris
