This fungus lacks mostly a stem and grows on dead wood of conifers.
Sometimes it can even be found on insufficient protected wood of picnic tables, fenceposts, and so on.

Not to be confused with the Oyster Mushroom (well, that's hardly possible as it grows on the ground, I think). But your fine detailed image shows some similarities in the form. An impressive capture, Mark!cheers, Adele

Die Aufnahme ist klasse - und wenn ich mal einen Pilz nicht kenne (das geht bei mir ziemlich schnell), dann schicke ich Dir ein bild - Mark weiß das...:))Der Schnitt und das Licht sind super, die Schärfe ebenfalls, sehr schön ist auch das morsche Holz und die Farnpflänzchen sind ein schöner lebendiger Farbtupfer.
