The Fungi World (343) : Dyer's Mazegill
Dyer’s mazegill (also known as velvet-top fungus) is a fungus that usually grows on bare tree roots of conifers in 2, 3 or 4 overlapping tiers.
It's a significant parasite, attacking the host tree through its roots and often killing him as a result of serious brown rot that it causes !
This fungal infection can mean a significant tree loss for a forest.

German name : Kiefern-Braunporling
Latin name : Phaeolus schweinitzii

Dieser Pilz ist ein herrlicher Anblick - fast wirkt er ein wenig wie eine Blüte ..Die Farben und zarten Muster gefallen mir sehr und vor allem sind die hellen Ränder sehr dekorativ und Deine Aufnahme ist wie immer einfach super! LG! a.
